Projects

Projects is where you browse platform initiatives, join as a contributor, and (after approval) work in the project workspace.

You can also open Browse projects from My Dashboard Quick links.

Typical member path#

Step What you do
1 Browse and open a project
2 Click Contribute / Request to Contribute when it is open to join
3 After you are accepted, use Workspace for tasks, updates, and documents
4 Track assigned work under My project tasks

How-to detail: Workspace & your work

Browse projects#

  1. Open Projects in the main menu (or the link above).
  2. Use Search projects… and filters such as Browse by category and status (Active, Planning, and others).
  3. Switch grid or list view if offered.
  4. On a card you may see chips such as Joined, Lead, or Members, plus actions like Details, Contribute, or Workspace.

Project details modal#

Many cards open a short overview with:

  • About this project
  • Impact so far (when shown)
  • Project details (coordinator, members, volunteer hours, dates)

Contribute or join#

  1. Sign in if you are not already.
  2. When a project is Open to contributors, use Contribute on the card, or Request to Contribute in the details view.
  3. You should see a confirmation that your join request was sent and a project coordinator will review it.
  4. Until you are accepted, you may still read public project information on the directory.

If the project is not accepting members, you may see that it is not open to new contributors. Use Support or Messages if you need to ask someone on the team.

Guests see Join to contribute / Sign in prompts first.

After you join#

  • The project can appear under Your projects on My Dashboard.
  • Open Workspace from the project card or directory when you have access.
  • Assigned work appears under Your tasks on the dashboard and under My project tasks in the account menu.

Suggest a new idea#

When shown, Have an idea for a project? → Submit Proposal opens a contact form so you can describe the idea. That does not create a project by itself—someone follows up.

Discuss project work#

There is no separate project group chat inbox.
